INFRASTRUCTURE&STRUCTURAL LIQUID PAINT NAIL

*GENERAL PURPOSE
*FAST CURE
*GAS TIGHTNESS
Recommended use
: bonding: particleboard, plywood, fibre cement and strio flooring to joists· fibre cement sheet, plasterboard and wall paneling to wooden and metal studs · skirting boards, architraves and trims to walls-replacing loose tiles on walls(not recommended for floor tiles)·suitable for sixing polystyrene wall panels ·timber and other porous construction materials.

Substrates
: wood ·particleboard ·MDF ·concrete ·cement sheet ·gypsum board ·cement render ·polyurethane foam ·expanded polystyrene ·plywood

Benefits
:
Versatile – multiple uses
Fast initial grab – minimizes slippage on vertical surfaces.
Easy clean up – use water
Flows easily at all temperatures
High bond strength and heat resistance when cured(service temperature up to 90°C)
High bond strength – exceeds AS2329,mastic adhesives for fixing wallboards.
No fumes –water based
Strong adhesion to metal – when other surface is porous.
Bridges gaps up to 9 mm – effective when used on uneven surfaces
One part – no mixing
Paintable with water – based surface coatings
Reduces squeaking associated with nail ride in floors
Complies with AS 2329 – 1980
Can be repositioned for up to 60 minutes after application
Reduces number of mechanical fasteners required to install floors or walls
Natural wood colour – blends in.

Surface preparation
:
All surfaces must be clean, sound and free of dust, oil or contamination will adhere to damp (not wet),surfaces (longer drying time may result).ensure that substrate temperature is above 5°C.if bonding a non-porous surface, such as metal, ensure that the other surface is capable of absorbing moisture(porous).

Application
:
Cut tip off plastic nipple.screw on nozzle and load into cartridge gun.cut nozzle to desired size.with gentle trigger pressure, dispense adhesives as a bead onto studs or joists.do not apply the adhesive as a blob as this will result in longer drying times.
Apply adhesive to one surface.fit surfaces together within 20 minutes.in heavy duty applications, use with permanent mechanical fasteners.for wall panels or light objects, support may be required, but can be removed when the adhesive has set (approximately 24 hours).

Flooring and wall panels(to joists and studs)
:
Apply a 5mm diameter bead to each joist batten or stud in a zigzag pattern.where sheets will butt together, apply a 5mm diameter bead along both edges of that joist, batten or stud so that each sheet edge will be on a glue line.
Floors
:
Fit sheet within 20 minutes of application of YA5000 LIQUID NAILS to the joist. if supplied, the flooring manufacturer’s instructions should be followed. in the absence of supplied instructions YA5000 suggest the following: stagger end-joins and leave 1.5mm gaps between them to allow for expansion. nail oe screw sheets to joists at 150mm centres around the perimeter and 300mm centres through the middle.use a putty knife to remove any squeeze-out between the sheets.
Walls
:
Fit panel within 20 minutes of application of YA5000 LIQUID NAILS construction adhesive to the batten or stud. support the panel where required until the adhesive has set.

Bonding
- all overlay flooring ,parquetry or engineered timber must be fully bonded to a plywood base that is a full prowel out of adhesive over entire area spot gluing or bead application is not recommended.
Application
– Apply YA5000 LIQUID NAILS and trowel out with a 2.5mm,3mm,or 4mm V notched trowel depending on surface roughness of floor.
Only apply as much YA5000 ma bond fast grip as can be covered in 15 minutes by flooring. Secret nail individual planks and place sand bags or similar weights on whole area.

Polystyrene foam panels
:
When installing polystyrene foam wall panels using YA5000 LIQUID NAILS construction adhesive the adhesive must be applied as parallel beads each no more than 5mm in diameter.

Cure time
:
When both surfaces are porous YA5000 max bond grip construction adhesive will develop a firm, slip resistance bond after 15 minutes at 30°C and after 60 minutes at 10°C.when one surface is non-porous,or the substrate is damp, allow 8hours for a firm, slio resistant bond to develop.YA5000 max bond grip construction adhsive will cure to 90% of its final strength after 24 hours depending upon temperature, porosity of the substrates, humidity and ventilation.

Service temperature
:
YA5000 LIQUID NAILS construction adhesive will maintain a bond in situations where the temperature is between -5°C and 90°C.

Painting
:
YA5000 max bond grip construction adhesive can be painted 24 hours after application.

Coverage
:
420g cartridge will give 15 lineal metres of a 5mm bead.
Approximate coverage when trowelled out
2.5mm trowel ---1.00m2/kg approx.
3.0mm ---0.86g approx.
4.0mm ---0.43g approx.

Limitations
:
Protect from contact with water.

High humidity or poor ventilation will result in slow drying.

Not suitable where both surfaces are non-porous.

In applications where a load will be carried by the bond, the use of mechanical fasteners is recommended to prevent creep or substrate failure.

Not suitable for bonding flooring to concrete slabs (old or new) due to the potential of cupping of the timer floor. YA5000 recommends using YA5000s floorbond MS or XMS for these applications.

Clean up
:
Clean up uncured adhesive with water, cured material can be removed by trimming with a knife or scraper.

Pack sizes
:
280ml, 300ml and 310ml
